Theodor Seuss Geisel; (March 2, 1904 – September 24, 1991) was an American writer, poet, and cartoonist most widely known for his children's books written under the pen names Dr. Seuss, Theo LeSieg and, in one case, Rosetta Stone.
He published 46 children's books, which were often characterized by imaginative characters, and rhyme. (Wikipedia)
... And so today, we celebrated his birthday! I had Ashton pull out all of his Dr Seuss books and after about half an hour this is what he came up with. It turns out we have 2 "The Cat in The Hat" books and 3 "Are You My Mother?" books... and then some books that aren't actually Dr Seuss books but had The Cat in The Hat on them so he figured they were all the same. :)
And then early last night we headed off to watch Dr. Seuss' The Lorax movie.
Ash loved it and even declared that we will be buying that movie for him soon. We will see about that, but it certainly was adorable and one we could all sit down and watch again, even Jax! He almost sat through the whole movie without a peep, towards the end he was getting restless, but that was just because he wanted to sing along to all the fun songs. :)
Before bed we pulled out our books again and read them all with our Dr Seuss blankets that Great Grandma Paul made the boys when Jax was born.
We even made some little bookmarks for Ash.
We had a ton of fun celebrating Dr Seuss' birthday today. We love his books and we loved The Lorax movie. Perfect way to spend a Friday with my boys. :)
